As a graphic design intern for the Democracy and Media working groups, I collaborated with researchers and project leads to create a poster series that visually represented our semester-long research findings. My primary role was to design impactful visuals that embodied the essence of our research, specifically focusing on the intersection of democracy and media.
To achieve this, I utilized archival materials from UC Berkeley's Ethnic Library archives, collaging historic farmworker union posters to weave a narrative of collective action and media’s role in social movements. Working closely with the research team, I ensured the designs aligned with the project's themes and academic goals while staying true to the archival context.
The outcome was a compelling poster series that highlighted our key insights and was well-received by both academic and creative audiences, serving as a testament to the power of design in amplifying research narratives.
